The Well Recovery Center is a drug and alcohol treatment center in Huntington Beach, CA. We offer a variety of levels of care to meet the needs of different people. We provide evidence-based treatment services and remain the best recovery addiction center in California.

We offer detoxification, residential inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and aftercare treatment services.

  • Detoxification services are available to anyone struggling with addiction. They are designed to help them clean by ridding the body of toxins built up over time because of drug and alcohol abuse. They can be a life-saving service for many people and should be seen as a viable option for anyone struggling with addiction.
  • The residential inpatient program consists of a 90-day stay at our facility, where we provide 24-hour supervision and care for our clients. The program is an intensive 90-day program that includes: medical and psychiatric care, nursing care; individual and group therapy sessions with psychologists, psychiatrists, and nurses; social work support; educational groups; life skills training; recreational activities.
  • Partial hospitalization treatment typically involves a primary concentration on behavioral health issues and substance abuse issues. Partial hospitalization treatment is often conducted in a residential setting that has some of the comforts of home, such as a kitchen or living room.

Our outpatient program provides a more personalized experience for those who may not need the level of care provided by our residential programs or would like to receive treatment from us without leaving their home.

Utilizing state-of-the-art facilities, we have intensive outpatient and aftercare programs to help individuals transition back into their home environment. Our intensive outpatient programs are designed to be a step-down program from the intensity of our Inpatient Program. Programming focuses on the individual’s specific needs and the intensive outpatient programs are available to stay on-site or in our facilities for up to 90 days.

We provide a complete detoxification process when clients enter our facility while in active substance abuse. Detoxification is the period in recovery where a client will be experiencing the side effects of the substance leaving their body. Many substances have a severe and uncomfortable side effect called a “withdrawal” period.

Due to the severe discomfort experienced during detoxification, our facility utilizes medications that significantly reduce the difficulty, making at-home detoxification a less-than-optimal option for long-term addicts and alcoholics. Using drugs such as Suboxone, Valium, Ativan, Methocarbamol, Zofran, Seroquel, and other medications classified as “comfort medications,” we can provide our clients with a much more manageable detox without them having to fear the more severe symptoms while also providing supervision in the event of more severe complications. These medications significantly mitigate the physical sensations of detox and dramatically diminish the psychological battle many long-term addicts will face during detoxification. Ultimately detoxification is considered the first, and for many, the hardest step to take to regain their lives.

After a client has a safe and successful detox, they are moved to the Residential level of care (L.O.C. for short). At this stage of treatment, clients have cleared what is often referred to as the “haze” or “fog” in their minds that comes after heavy or long-term usage and have begun to heal their bodies and minds. Now is the time to work and take the necessary steps to achieve a solid and lasting recovery. Through this stage, clients will be attending group therapy sessions one-on-one sessions with a case manager and a therapist, attend 12 step meetings and begin creating a treatment plan that will address the root causes of their substance abuse. Clients can sometimes feel apprehensive at this stage, as a lot of us that have been using for any length of time are using substances as a tool to stave off the uncomfortable and sometimes painful feelings and emotions that were not addressed and dealt with healthily when they first arose. But with constant care alongside our experienced and hard-working staff, as well as the community that is built with peers in the program, you can rest assured that you will not have to face it alone.

Also known as “PHP,” this level of care consists of continued groups and therapy sessions while still attending to the treatment plan, but with the client no longer needing the constant care and supervision given during inpatient residential care. Clients will often move out of the residential home and go to one of our Sober living houses. Still, we also understand that those with homes or families of their own do not always have the option of sober living and must return to their family homes. With PHP, clients will spend a portion of the day at the facility to attend groups, continue therapy sessions, and continue accomplishing their goals from the treatment plans while also adapting it to any new desired goals or milestones- hence the term “partial” hospitalization.

Intensive Outpatient (I.O.P.) is the next level of care in the treatment process. I.O.P. differs slightly from PHP in that it requires less time in groups. Typically I.O.P. follows a gradual transition, starting at 5 days a week going to 4 days, then 3 days, etc. This level of care is seen as the point where a client’s treatment plan has been followed, and they are at the point where they are considered to be at shallow risk for relapse. Typically, this level can last for several months, depending on the client’s wishes to achieve. A client will begin reintegrating back into everyday society. Clients will typically work with their case manager to start putting together an after-care plan consisting of finding a therapist outside of the program and a physician. Clients will, at this point, usually have a job or be well on their way to having gainful employment. Statistically speaking, clients who have gone through all the levels of care are considered to be at a much lower chance of relapse or continued substance abuse.

Once a client completes our IOP program, we encourage continued treatment through our outpatient program. Typically 1-3 days a week, this step-down level of care helps clients readjust to life in recovery while accessing therapeutic modalities that build upon the foundation started during inpatient care.

In addition, we offer aftercare services from individual therapy to sober living placement and more.
